Beginner Yoga Exercises
To start a beginner yoga session
you only need 30 minutes for 3 days a week. Research has shown
that yoga exercises done 3 times a week lead to a development of
greater flexibility over time than those done each day.
It seems the body needs to rest
between each stretching session. Many yoga practitioners like to
do yoga each day. This is great, but I suggest to do a more
intense stretching 3 times a week and take it a little easy the
other yoga exercise sessions.
Many yoga teachers have a
performance modality. It is good to take it easy in beginners yoga
and let your body tell you when the stretch is enough.
So learn to know your body
limits and don't push too hard. This could also avoid hurting
yourself in the process. Yoga should be fun. Start slow and let
your body enjoy the stretches.
It is a good idea when staring yoga exercises as a beginner to use
a teacher. However, good books or videos on Yoga Exercise can help
you get started in the privacy of your home.
If you have certain medical
conditions it is a good idea to check with a doctor.
Yoga Poses are called asanas.
During beginner yoga exercises it is important to use your breath.
Start in breathing slowly and deeply, focusing your mind,
and making yourself calm. To learn some beginner yoga postures go
to
salute to the sun yoga instruction.
It is good to breath into your
belly on the in breath and if you do this you will find the belly
expands. Due to tension many of use do not breath this way.
Totally relax on the out breath.
Use your breath to take you out
of your mind and into your body. The more you can relax and deepen
your breath the more centered you will become.
The next step is to breath in
time with the body movements. Your teacher will tell you how to
breath for each pose. Most good books on beginners yoga also will
give you this information.
